Decided this year i would treat myself to a new oscilloscope as all i had before was a really old analog telequipment d61a. Well after a lot of research i decided on a  Rigol DS1052E digital oscilloscope. Today i finaly got around to testing it now thats its arrived, looks like all the reviews were right its a lovely bit of kit. All i need to do is find time to load a windows machine up and test the data logging software.

Received my order of spares from Needed two spare Keda KD2217 propeller adaptors. Tip never do them too tight or they will strip when undoing as only aluminium, don't ask me how I know :). Rest of this order mostly spare wire & connectors ready for my HK-Drone style tricopter I plan to build next.

OK got a lot of stuff done:
* soldered up all connectors on motors and esc's
* mounted missile switch on quad copter
* didn't have any 10 awg wire so ended up using 12 awg and 16 strappedaped together just to be safe
* build power cabling system and wired it to missile switch
* tested all motors and esc's this included motors and ducted fans ready for hk-drone robot
* build a simple header so I could run all motors using one servo signal

Most parts have been ordered now this is a ruff list of parts i bought

1 x £4.99 ABS box MB5 (maplin YN40)
1 x £2.34 16/0.2 wire 10M blue (maplin FA27)
1 x £2.54 16/0.2 wire 10M black (maplin KR31)
1 x £238.54 SPEKTRUM DX7 DSM2 2.4GHz TX (mode 2) + 2x AR6200 RX (off ebay wanted for RC modal helicopters anyway, also have a old Futaba 6 channel skysport 6 (6YG-FM40) MODE 2)

Just spent last ten minutes installing my new Alienware laptop screen and all works which is great as i can now see the whole screen again yay.

Was dam fast delivery as i ordered screen from ebay laptopservicecenter (Dallas, Texas, United States) on friday 01-01-2010 at 7pm and it had arrived at my house in the UK by wednesday 6th at around 1 pm.

Well finaly got xen running again, decided to go with ubuntu 8.04 as i know it had less xen bugs and didnt take me that long to fix everything. One item left to fix and thats finding out why vnc and my HVM domain wont start so cant access windows domU but thats not a problem as dont use much yet.

Dam it, just had to order myself a new laptop display as my nice Alienware laptop now has vertical lines. Think i must have closed the lid to quick which has caused circuit in one area to disconnect from the glass screen :(. Thats about £166 i didnt plan on spending now i just have to wait for it to arive from the United states so i can fit it, Shame i couldn't find a UK supplier.

F##ck me i finally got XEN running a windows HVM guest and allowing me to access its VNC connection remotely (my servers headless so no SDL=1 option here). It took awhile but after abit of googleing for extra config options, a few cat and tail -f commans later i worked out all those dam cryptic xen error messages.

Now i can finnish setting up a test network and start playing with setting up honeypots and going through a pentesting and security course i found.

Just orderd a NAS a NETGEAR ReadyNAS NVX Pioneer Edition RNDX400E. I had been meaning to get one for ages. will be so much nicer than using slow external drives for backups. Thinking for now ill take three of my  1.5 TB drives and put inside it in a raid 5. I could use all 4 of my 1.5TB drives not decided yet  as its handy having one drive with that much storage in a external small case.

If you noticed site was slow lately its because im an idiot. I only gave my xen domain that runs this website 128mb of ram and mysql was runing out of memory but its been fixed now.
